2026 Utah Area Young Single Adult Conference - Aug 14th & 15th

2026 Utah Area Young Single Adult Conference

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We invite every young single adult ages 18–35 to attend the 2026 Utah Area Young Single Adult Conference, August 14 and 15, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City.

This conference is led by the Utah Area Presidency and has been prepared with great care, faith, and excitement. As an Area, we are joyfully gathering Israel one by one in Christ, and this conference will help young single adults be strengthened in Jesus Christ, deepen their faith in His word, and build meaningful relationships with one another.

The conference will include keynote messages, breakout sessions, music, service opportunities, and uplifting gathering experiences.

We invite families, friends, ministering brothers and sisters, and ward members to personally encourage the young single adults in their lives to attend.

In advance of the publication for the new global hymnbook, Hymns - For Home and Church, the Church is digitally releasing small groups of new of hymns every few months until the full collection becomes available in print. We invite you to become familiar with the new music as it is released. Sheet music and audio recordings can be found on the Gospel Library and Sacred Music apps and at music.ChurchofJesusChrist.org.

Temple Workers Needed

The Draper Temple is looking for additional temple workers. This is a calling you volunteer for and do not have to wait for the bishop to call you. Please contact a member of the bishopric for more information.

We encourage everyone to maintain a current temple recommend. Please grab one of the bishopric counselors during or after church, or contact Brian Pugh to schedule an interview with the bishop.

Interviews with the Stake Presidency are usually available:

Sundays - 11am-noon in the Stake offices.
1st and 3rd Tuesdays - 6:30pm to 7:30pm
By appointment by scheduling with Scott Slighting (801-560-4449)

For those wanting a mobile temple rec instead of paper (you can only have one or the other, but not both), you'll need to update your LDS tools picture which will be used for verification at the temple desk.

Presidency Message

Dear Sisters,

One of my favorite childhood memories was watching fireworks on the Fourth of July. As soon as dusk settled in, we would scramble to gather our blankets and treats, hop in the car, and scout out the best spot for our little town’s fireworks show. There was nothing better than a perfect summer night, lying on our backs and watching one firework after another burst across the sky, always waiting for our favorite-a huge one that, after exploding, looked like a giant weeping willow falling right down on us. As a child, it felt magical.

As we celebrate the blessings of July-our nation’s freedoms and our state’s Pioneer Day-we are reminded that just as fireworks light up the night sky, the light of the gospel shines brightly in a world that can feel challenging and even dark at times. Fireworks are beautiful but fleeting; the Light of Jesus Christ is constant. It brings us hope, peace, and joy that endures.

Thank you for being shining lights to one another, for strengthening our Relief Society, and for sharing His love with those around you.
